The Fighting Irish Battalion conducted New Cadet Orientation on August 15-19 2021 . This was a great opportunity for the new incoming freshman to experience the type of training they will be conducting throughout the four-year journey to becoming a commissioned officer. New Cadet Orientation is led by rising seniors with the juniors serving as instructors in a Non-commissioned Officer capacity. The events tested individuals physically and mentally while providing an opportunity to meet returning and new members of the organization. Events at New Cadet Orientation include an Army Physical Fitness Test, Confidence Obstacle Courses, Land Navigation, and Basic Marksmanship. On 19 August, the Cadet Oath was recited in front of the Reflecting Pool upon successful conclusion of the training.
