New Cadet Orientation

The Fighting Irish Battalion will conduct New Cadet Orientation.  This is a great opportunity to experience the type of training you will conduct throughout your four-year journey to becoming a commissioned officer.  Students wishing to participate in Army ROTC are expected to attend.  New Cadet Orientation is led by rising seniors with the juniors serving as instructors in a Non-commissioned Officer capacity.  The event will test individuals physically and mentally while providing an opportunity to meet returning and new members of the organization.  Events at New Cadet Orientation include an Army Physical Fitness Test, Confidence Obstacle Courses, Land Navigation, and Basic Marksmanship.  At 2pm on16 August, the Cadet Oath is recited in front of the Reflecting Pool upon successful conclusion of the training.  Families are invited to the Cadet Oath ceremony and a cook-out immediately after.  All Cadets are released to their families for dorm move-in at 3pm on Thursday, 16 August 2018.  …

"God, Country, Notre Dame"

Army ROTC is proud to support the Shamrock Series events in San Antonio, Texas over Veteran's Day Weekend 2017.  The theme for the event is "God, Country, Notre Dame."  This motto originally recognizing the more than 2,200 Notre Dame men who fought in, of which 46 died, during the First World War.  This sacrifice is memorialized on the East Door to the Basilica.  As the University of Notre Dame has transformed, the motto has held stalwart, and today serves as the motto for the Fighting Irish Battalion.  It is a poignant reminder for the men and women commissioning into the Army to their committment to live and serve ethically and dedicated to service to the nation.    …
