The Fighting Irish Battalion Alumni Committee strengthens the bonds between past, present and future members of the Fighting Irish Battalion. It is alumni led, and serves to as official representation in working with the current Professor of Military Science and the Cadets. The Alumni Committee has several initiatives, one of which is recognition of many of the great members of the Fighting Irish Battalion. The Committee is responsible for identifying prospective nominees and voting for their induction into the Notre Dame Army ROTC Wall of Honor. Inductions into the Notre Dame Army ROTC Wall of Honor are made at the annual Notre Dame Army ROTC Ball, traditionally held in February or March. Additionally, to foster camaraderie with current Cadets, the Alumni Committee organizations at least one event annually, such as a tailgate, and works details with current program cadre to ensure its success.
Alumni Committee Membership Guidance
Members must have completed the Army ROTC program with the Fighting Irish Battalion. The committee is comprised of at least five and no more than 10 individuals for efficiency, with at least one member having been a graduate within the last 10 years. The term is one academic school year, from August until June. Individuals can serve consecutive terms, if desired. The suspense date for alumni to apply to become a member of the Alumni Committee will be no later than 1 February of each year for the following year’s ceremony. Alumni Committee applications will be reviewed and approved by the current Professor of Military Science.
