CPT Dallas Taylor Tankersley is a native of Springfield Illinois. He attended Western Illinois University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in General Studies. Upon graduation, CPT Tankersley was commissioned into the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Transportation Corps in 2013. After completion of Basic Officer Leadership Course, CPT Tankersley was assigned to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He served as the Maintenance Control Officer and Distribution Platoon Leader in 3rd Battalion, 319th AFAR, and as the Executive Officer and Interim Commander in D Co, and also served as the S-4 in 3rd Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment.
Upon completion of Logistics Combined Captains Career Course, he was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida where he assumed command of the Forward Support Company in February 2018. As the Company Commander he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Resolute Support Mission-Afghanistan X (RSM-X). Upon redeployment from Afghanistan, he relinquished Command of the Forward Support Company on 26 May 2019. After Company Command, CPT Tankersley served as the S-4 for 4th Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), organized and postured to conduct sensitive and long duration operations, specializing in Non-Standard Logistic support.
His military education includes the Basic Officers Leadership Course, Basic Airborne Course, Jump Master Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, TC-AIMS II Functional User Course, Combative Level 1 Training Course, Logistics Combined Captain's Career Course, Non-Standard Logistics Course, Commercial Logistics Course.
CPT Dallas Tankersley's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal (With 2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, NATO Medal Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Senior Parachutist Badge, German Parachutist Badge in Bronze (Second Award), German Armed Forces Badge of Proficiency in Gold (Second Award), German Armed Forces Badge of Marksmanship, and the recipient of the Order of the Saint George Award for the U.S. Army Cavalry and Armor.
